Biography

Andrew Donkin is an enormously experienced graphic novelist and the author of over forty books for adults and children, including Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight for DC Comics. He is illustrator of Artemis Fowl: The Graphic Novel.

What is your favorite book?
Depends what mood I’m in.  Some favorites are:
‘Stig of the Dump’ by Clive King
‘Marianne Dreams’ by Catherine Storr
‘The Mouse and his Child’ by Russell Hoban
‘A Book of Dreams’ by Peter Reich
‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’ by Hunter S. Thompson
‘Batman Year One’ (graphic novel) by Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli

What is your favorite song?
Gosh – just one?  OK then ‘Rook’ by XTC – Swindon’s finest export. 
When I’m working I tend to listen to a lot of ambient Brian Eno music as gentle background noise.

What is your favorite film?
Spirited Away
Planet of the Apes (the Charlton Heston original)
