A small boy who has been kidnapped by brigands, passes the dark and stormy night in their cave weaving for them incredible stories of their own exploits. Through the stories he solves his own problem and manages to escape.

'It was a dark and stormy night is a wonderful story by Janet and Alan Alhberg. Set beyond all wonders and makes each child’s imagination flutter. As a young boy is captured by brigands he tries many ways of getting back home. He might be young but I’m very sure his much intelligent than you and I. The wicked but pretty stupid brigands plot against the boy. But his mighty tales are too brilliant for their tiny minds to understand. A brain stabbing story a child will never forget.'
