'Definitly a good read, S.E. Hinton did a good job at writing this book. She really can connect with the reader and put alot of detail into the writing of the book, you can picture the characters with a vivid view, sort of like looking at a picture.
I would reccommend it to anybody that likes action, adventure, tragedy, and a heck of alot of family like care.'

The Outsiders - a novel by 15 year old S.E Hinton - will have you on the edge of your seat from page one. It is written from the perspective of a fourteen year old troubled teen named Ponyboy Curtis who lives with his two loving brothers after both of his parents were killed in an auto wreck, and has grown up within a tight-knit group of "greasers". Despite his rough up-bringing and hardened appearance, Ponyboy is a surprisingly deep thinker who enjoys reading, drawing pictures, and of course, looking at sunsets. Two-Bit, Steve, Sodapop, Darry, Dally, and Johnny each have their own distinctive characteristics that allow the reader to connect with the boys on a personal level. The Outsiders is a shockingly innovative and gripping story written by, for, and about teens. While it is based on the life of a teen growing up in the 1960's, it has a timeless quality to it that any generation can connect to and perhaps learn from. Filled with messages of equality, love, and belonging, it is without any doubt the most life changing novel I have ever come across.
