'I came upon this book in a thrift store and not knowing what it was about read it with conflicting interest. It was VERY GOOD. However, I felt it was really a child''s book - I intend to give it to my 12 year old granddaughter! Coming to the "end" of it, I searched the follow ups on the net and discovered that indeed it is directed to children from 8 to 12; however, I would recommend it to adults as well - I considered it well-written and the concept of the child speaking "cat" and accompanying (or being accompanied) on a trip with lions was/is intriguing. I intend to read the two follow-up books also. 'Product details
