Meg is the eldest and on the brink of love. Then there’s tomboy Jo who longs to be a writer. Sweet-natured Beth always puts others first, and finally there’s Amy, the youngest and most precocious. Together they are the March sisters.

'I really like this book as it shows you what life was like in the 18th century. I enjoyed it as there is a mixture of romance, mischief and drama. My favourite character in the book is Jo as she is very much like me! I reccomend this to anybody but they should be prepared to read a thick book (I think).'
