Puffin Summer Book Jam Terms and Conditions

1.  The prize draw is open to all residents in the UK & Ireland, with the exception of employees of the promoter, their immediate families and anyone else connected with this promotion. 

2. This Prize Draw is open from 1st June 2007 and closes on 1st August 2007 and entries must be received between these dates.  The promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries that are incomplete, illegible or fail to reach the promoter by the relevant closing date for any reason.

3. Only one entry per person per prize draw.

4.  To enter the prize draw, collect three stamps on a special Puffin Summer Book Jam bookmark. You will be awarded one stamp each time you buy a book forming part of the Puffin Summer Book Jam promotion at selected bookshops. You should then send the relevant section of the bookmark, along with your name, age and postal address to Puffin Summer Book Jam, Puffin Marketing, 80 Strand, London WC2R 0RL.  Alternatively, just send your full name, age, address,  email address to Puffin Summer Book Jam, Puffin Marketing, 80 Strand, London WC2R 0RL. All entries from those under 16 years of age should be accompanied by written permission from their parent/guardian. No purchase necessary to enter.

5. All correctly completed entries will be entered into a prize draw, which will take place on 6th August 2007.The winners will be selected by pulling all entries at random out of a hat.  The decision of the promoter as to winners will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

6. The first 20 names drawn will receive an invitation to the Puffin Book Jam Party for themselves, one child guest and one adult. Winners will be offered tickets to their choice of one public event from either Eoin Colfer, Cathy Cassidy, Jeremy Strong or the Puffin Picture Book Party subject to availability.  All winners will be offered entry to the private Book Jam party the same afternoon which will include the chance to meet authors, activity sheets, quizzes and refreshments.  It will take place on 29th September 2007 in Bath and tickets for the public events will be allocated according to the order that the winning entries are picked in (i.e. the name drawn first will get first choice over which event to attend). The prize includes return travel for the winner and their child guest, but does not include the travel costs of any accompanying adult. Food and drink will be at the winners’ expense. The prizes are not transferable and there is no cash alternative.

7. Events may occur that render the promotion itself or the prizes impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the Promoter.  The Promoter may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the prizes and the winner agrees that no liability shall attach itself to the Promoter, provided that any prizes shall not be of lesser value than the ones advertised.

8. The winners will be notified within 4 weeks of the draw taking place. The winners must claim their prize within 30 days of the Promoter sending notification. If the prize is unclaimed after this time, it will lapse and the Promoter reserves the right to offer the unclaimed prize to a substitute winner selected in accordance with the promotion rules.

9. To obtain a list of winners for any prize draw please email
puffin@penguin.co.ukstating the name of the prize draw in the subject heading 4 weeks after the closing date.

10. The promoter will use any data submitted by entrants only for the purposes of running the prize draw, unless otherwise stated in the entry details.

11. The winners agree to take part in reasonable post event publicity and to the use of their names and photographs in such publicity.

12. By entering the prize draw each entrant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.
