6th March 2008 More award nominations for The Devil's Breath!

The Devil's Breath has been shortlisted for the Cumbria School Library Service's Spellbinding Award, a regional award voted for by children from across Cumbria.

Spellbinding, the Cumbrian Schools' Book Award, is now in its sixth year and is organised by Library Services for Schools. It is currently supported by the University of Cumbria. Building on the success of last year the scheme has seen pupils from reading groups in secondary schools nominate their favourite book. The Award day will be held in June 2008. On this day pupils from all the participating schools will review, debate and discuss the short listed books.

1st December 2007 The second Danger Zone adventure is named...

The name for the second Danger Zone title from David Gilman has just been released.

Danger Zone: Ice Claw will hit bookshops in July 2008.

20th November 2007 The Devil's Breath is nominated for major awards!

The Devil's Breath DangerZone: The Devil's Breath has been nominated for 2 very exciting awards.

It has been nominated for the prestigious Carnegie medal, which is awarded by children's librarians for an outstanding book for children and young people.

10th October 2007 New Danger Zone adventure coming soon!

Rumour has it that David Gilman has nearly finished writing the second book in the Danger Zone series! Excitement is building about Max Gordon's next gripping adventure.

The new books starts with a thundering rumble echoing round the mountain peaks of the Pyrenees as a deadly avalanche speeds towards the oblivious competitors in an X-treme sports challenge. Max Gordon's race to win has just become a race to survive.

3rd September 2007 Ultimate Survival weekend Ultimate Survival weekend

The Ultimate Survival Training weekend took place this weekend for David Gilman's The Devil's Breath. The 10 winners each brought a friend and a parent with them on the 2-day course in a deserted forest in Staffordshire for hardcore survival training. They learnt how to build a fire, make their own shelters, which plants and fruit to eat in the forest, how to kill and skin animals and most importantly they got to meet and quiz David on his survival skills.

Everyone had the most amazing weekend, under the expert supervision of the instructors.

Namibia is one of the driest countries on Earth and the landscape consists mostly of desert. It is also the second least densely populated country, which means there are only 6.5 people in every square mile of land (compared to 630 people in UK).

So, if you ever visit Namibia and think it might be a good idea to go wandering out into the desert, you can be pretty sure that you will end up lost and alone if you are not properly prepared!
